HOW WE WORK WITH PROVIDERS AND CLINICIANS

At PaTH, we are committed to developing practices by which research can be integrated within clinical practice in a way that is acceptable to clinicians and, ideally, adds value to the care that they provide. For example, investigators who work with PaTH are encouraged to respect clinicians' limited time. We aim to integrate study design with normal workflow (e.g. using standard referral processes to refer patients to interventions) and to require minimal clinician effort in study recruitment. PaTH seeks feedback from clinicians engaged in PaTH-affiliated studies and will use their feedback to refine our advice to investigators.

FEATURED PROVIDER

Dr. Wendy Bennett

Wendy Bennett, M.D., M.P.H., is a clinician and clinical researcher at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Bennett practices all aspects of primary care medicine, including preventative care and coordination of care with other specialists. She has particular interests in weight management and women’s health care. Dr. Bennett also serves as the principal investigator on the Daily24 Study.

"I have participated as a PaTH researcher for the past 4 years. I have enjoyed every minute – working with a group of collegial researchers on topics most important to patients and providers. Together we have tackled difficult clinical and research questions, and have worked to create an infrastructure using linked electronic health records. I look forward to this continued partnership through our newly funded American Heart Association-PaTH Daily24 study looking at the timing of eating (collected using a mobile phone app) and weight."
