PREvention of Cardiovascular and DiabEtic kidNey disease in Type 2 Diabetes (PRECIDENTD)
PI(s): Brendan Everett and Robert J. Glynn
Project Summary: This 7-year randomized controlled trial seeks to measure the comparative effectiveness of newer diabetes medications in preventing cardiovascular and kidney disease among patients with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, researchers want to learn about serious side effects in the treatment groups and their effect on patients’ quality of life. Patient outcomes, tracked through electronic health records and patient reports, will contribute to new understandings to guide patients and providers as they decide which diabetes medications are best for patients.
