Characterizing Obesity and Understanding Stakeholder Perspectives in a Large Integrated Health System (Characterizing Obesity)

Purpose: The overall objective of this project is to explore the real-world impact of obesity on health, health care, and health costs in the US. Specific Objectives are to:
1. Describe characteristics and weight change patterns of patients with obesity, understand the comorbidity burden among patients with obesity, and quantify the increased risk of poor clinical outcomes among patients with obesity
2. Describe trends in obesity management and areas of unmet need in obesity management, including identifying high risk and/or high healthcare utilizer groups who would most benefit from intervention
3. Identify challenges and unmet need in obesity management and treatment, including describing barriers and facilitators to obesity care, from patient, healthcare provider, and payer perspectives
