Characterizing Patients with Severe Hypertriglyceridemia (sHTG) and Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) Using a Multi-System Regional Research Network Database

PI(s): Jonathan Arnold and Kathleen McTigue, University of Pittsburgh

Project Summary:A series of queries in the PaTH Network will examine (a) patients with either Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) or hypertriglyceridemia; and (b) patients who would be considered at high risk in the AHA/ACC guidelines and need lipid lowering treatment, to determine their descriptive features, management approaches, and time from diagnosis to treatment initiation, escalation, and discontinuation. Researchers aim to understand the size of the population that is potentially eligible for inclusion in a phase 3 trial and to understand whether patients at high CV risk are achieving the targets laid out in AHA guidelines and how they are being managed.

Study Design: Multi-site Data only Observational
